2. Naming the
pale skins
The Sims only
operates with 3 skintones; light, medium and dark. To make the pale skins
show up in the game you have to 'cheat' the game - you make it belive that
it's a light toned skin. That way your pale heads and skins will show
up in the light skin tone menu in the 'make a family' screen. You name
your skin after the mesh you want to use and add the 'lgt' for light skin
tone. The name of the skin can be anything you want - when we make pale
skins for AmazonSims we add a 'P' to the name. That way we can tell it
from a real light toned skin.
Here are some examples of how to
name pale skins: Body: B200fafitlgt_desdDressP.bmp Head:
C702falgt_desdIrisP.bmp They are named just like you would name a light
toned skin (I just added the 'P', but you don't have to do that if you
don't want to - the skin will work fine anyway)
However, this means
that the game will automatically assign light toned hands, nude, formal,
swim and night wear, and that looks pretty silly. To avoid this, you have
to make costum hands, nude and so on in the pale skin tone.
